Netanyahu's Stalingrad on Sea is Israel's and our destruction.

The times we live in are rife with chaos whether from plagues, wars or economic catastrophes. It shouldn't be because it is the 21st century and humanity was supposed to have evolved into a more civilised state after the Second World War. It did for a while because there was the creation of the Welfare State, the fight for racial and sexual equality, and the anti-colonial wars that broke the yoke of many empires.

This should be an epoch of paradise on earth and might have been were it not for neoliberalism. Instead, it is a colossal Ponzi scheme on the same scale as the Divine Right of Kings, from centuries ago.

This corrupt anti-democratic ideology of neoliberalism is fascism without all the authoritarian calories of Nazism.

Polite neoliberal society prefers we don't draw parallels to 20th-century wars unless it is to say our side is the light and the other side is Hitler. Gaza has become Stalingrad on Sea where the West is supplying and supporting an Israel that has lost its moral compass and wages a war not of self-defence but of annihilation against Palestinians.

Despite compelling evidence genocide is being committed by Israel; the USA, and all its Western allies continue to enable this destruction of a people. Why? They are in agreement with Israel’s belief that the rules of war don’t apply to them. Western leadership along with its news media class believe Israel has a right to exact divine retribution against Palestinians. In short, our leaders believe genocide is justified against Palestinians.

 In my six decades of living, I have not witnessed anything as brazenly cynical as the political and news media class's unbridled support for Israel committing ethnic cleansing and mass death of Palestinians.

Our corporate news media abets the continuation of Israel's genocide by not confronting the inherent long-standing evil and corruption of Israel's current Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. They don't because it becomes harder to convince people that Israel’s war is just despite the “regrettable” bloodshed if the leader of this war is in competition with Donald Trump for corruption and fascism. It’s no wonder Netanyahu is winning the race for committing more war crimes than Putin.

Israel and the US government, over the last eleven months, doubled down, time and time again, on Netanyahu's vision for both war and peace- ensuring that unimaginable crimes against humanity were committed. It has also ensured that these atrocities continue to be committed on Palestinian children, on the infirm, on the vulnerable, on detainees in Gaza and in the West Bank.

Paediatric amputations from Israel's bombardment against Gaza are record-breaking. In no other war has there been this many children who lost arms and legs whilst they sought safety in their schools, hospitals or their homes.

The war is far from over and a study published in the Lancet calculated that at the beginning of the summer 186 thousand Palestinians had so far been killed in the war rather than the conservative estimate of 40 thousand. Some aid groups now  now postulate the number of annihilated could reach 500 thousand by December. That is a lot of retribution for 1200 killed by Hamas on October 7th even if you believe history only began on that day.

 If Putin's army had done this to Kyiv, Joe Biden would have threatened World War Three and meant it.

We are told this war is about justice for October 7th and the release of the hostages held by Hamas which is perfectly legitimate if done under the rules of modern warfare. But this war has not been conducted by Israel’s government with any measure of humanity. Palestinians are called, "dogs, "animals," less than humans or savages." Prisoners held in Israeli detention have been tortured as well as raped and these brutality continues. The entire population of Gaza is being deliberately starved by the Israeli government.

The geo-political policy followed by Western leaders and Israel is to make all Palestinians Hamas and Hamas all Palestinians. It is the only way our governments and Israel will be able to explain to their people why Gaza was raised with a savagery not seen since Nazi Germany obliterated Warsaw from the map in July 1944 to January 1945. They turned that city into a mass grave and used the rubble e as a cairn for the thousands of needlessly dead.

 Our post-World War Two democratic/liberal consensus is over. Now the only thing before us is barbarism and the treacle words of wealthy politicians who will try to console us with patriotism and hate as we bury our dead. What ever pretence we have that we live in a "representative democracy," won't survive this.  2025 is going to be the dawning of authoritarianism for us.
